1. 어와나(AWANA) 프로그램이 3월 13일 금요일 (7:30-9 PM) 부터 다시 시작될 예정입니다. 등록은 3월 1일과 8일 (주일) 점심 시간에 친교실에서 하실 수 있습니다. 어와나는 “인정된 일꾼은 부끄러울 것이 없다” (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) 라는 말의 약자를 따서 줄인 말로, 디모데 후서 2장 15절에 있는 “너는 진리의 말씀을 옳게 분별하며 부끄러울 것이 없는 일꾼으로 인정된 자로 자신을 하나님 앞에 드리기를 힘쓰라” 라는 말씀에 기초를 두고 있습니다. 어와나 프로그램은 아이들이 게임을 통한 재미와 함께 성경을 암송하게 하는데 중점을 두고 있으며, 아이들이 하나님에 대한 지식과 사랑안에서 자라나도록 도울 것입니다.
2. 유초등부/유치부 봄 소풍(Spring Field Trip)이 오는 3월28일(토) 오전 10시부터 오후 4시까지 교회에서 60 마일 정도 떨어진 Moorpark에 있는 Underwood Family Farms 에서 있을 예정입니다. 참가비는 한명당 $12이며, 딸기밭에서 딸기도 따고 동물들을 구경하며 웨곤도 타는 시간을 가질 예정입니다. 교통편과 안전을 위해 가족 단위로 참여하는 것을 원칙으로 하며 점심과 간식은 각자 준비해 오시기 바랍니다. 부모님들 없이 아이들만 참여해야 할 경우는 다른 부모님들과 상의하셔서 아이들을 위탁하시기 바랍니다. 3. 유초등부/유치부 PTA 부활: 지난달 1일에 있었던 오픈하우스에서 유치부와 유초등부가 합동으로 PTA를 결성하기로 결의하고 회장으로는 석경한 집사님을 선출하였습니다. 축하해 주시고 회장님께 많은 도움 주시길 바탁드립니다.
4. 교육부 전체 주일학교 교사 세미나 가 오는 3월 14일 오전 8시30분 부터 오후 1시까지 교회 영어예배실에서 열립니다. 강사진은 어린이 전도협회 (CEF)에서 목사님 두분과 간사님 한분이 오실 예정입니다. 교사들이 잘 훈련받고 도전받는 시간이 되도록 많은 기도 부탁드립니다.
5. 지난 9개월간 4학년 A반을 맡아 섬기시던 홍지남 집사님께서 교회의 다른 사역을 맡으시고 3월1일부로 주일학교 교사직을 사임하시기로 하셨습니다. 하지만 앞으로 금요일 저녁에 있는 AWANA프로그램을 통해 아이들을 위해 계속 봉사하시기로 하셨습니다. 그동안의 수고에 감사를 드립니다.
6. 3월 둘째 주일부터 4학년 A반의 새 교사로 김은혜 선생님께서 수고하시기로 하셨습니다. 많은 기도와 격려 부탁드립니다.
7. 3월 8일 부터 성경공부 교재가 Group Publishing 의 “FaithWeaver NOW” 로 바뀌게 됨을 알려드립니다.

[Upcoming Events and Announcements]

1. AWANA Club: We will be resuming the AWANA Club program starting from March 13th (7:30-9 PM). You can register your children during the lunch time on Sunday March 1^st and 8^th in the fellowship hall. ?AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed”. This is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15: “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” Awana children’s ministry emphasizes fun and Bible memorization. Through Awana club, children will grow in the knowledge and love of God through learning the Bible and memorizing scripture.
2. The Pre-K and CM will be having a Spring Field Trip on March 28th from 10 am to 4 pm. The place will be Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark, which is about 60 miles from our church. The entrance fee will be $12 per person, and the activities include strawberry picking, animal show, and wagon ride. For the safety and transportation, parents must accompany their children, and everyone must bring their own lunch and snacks. If you would like to send your children by themselves, you must make an arrangement with other parents to take care of your children during the trip. (Spring Field Trip Flyer.pdf )
3. Pre-K/CM PTA reestablished: During the Open House event on February 1st, parents have decided to establish a joint-PTA for Pre-K and CM, and elected John Seok Jibsanim as the president. Please congratulate him and support him.
4. The education ministries will be having an annual Teachers Training Day on March 14th from 8:30 am to 1 pm. The guest speakers are three Pastors from Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). Please pray for the event so that the teachers can learn valuable lessons and be challenged.
5. Chi Hong Jibsanim who has been teaching the 4th Grade (A) class during past nine months has decided to resign to help other ministry in the church. However, he will be continuing to serve the Children’s Ministry as an AWANA staff on Friday nights. We thank him for his hard work and dedication during his service.
6. Starting the second Sunday (3/8) of March, Grace Kim teacher will be teaching the 4th Grade (A) class. Please welcome her onboard and pray for her.
7. Starting March 8th, we will be changing the Bible study curriculum to “FaithWeaver NOW” by Group Publishing.
