오후 한나절 내내

바다는 새들과 뒤범벅이 되어 있었다

날카로운 부리와 길다란 모가지, 그리고

새까맣고 미끈거리는 몸뚱이,

저들이 물 속으로 그들을 찾아 내려가고 있다

가엽고 둔감한 은빛들이 살고 있는 곳으로,

그들은 지금 찰나의 삶을 사는 것이다.

신이여! 어떻게 늘

이런 시간들을 창안하십니까

나는 한 밤에 꿈을 꿉니다

아름다운 새들의 꿈을,

어두운 바다를 뚫고 솟아오르는 새들을,
